![]() Kevin Hewison Dr. Kevin Hewison completed his Ph.D. at Murdoch University in 1984. He has held academic posts at Murdoch University, the Australian National University, the University of Papua New Guinea, Mahidol University (Thailand), the University of New England and the City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Hewison was the Foundation Chair of Asian Studies at the University of New England and then the inaugural Director of City University’s Southeast Asia Research Centre. He is the author of more than 150 publications on Southeast Asia, democratization and globalization. In addition to his academic work, Professor Hewison has considerable experience working as a development consultant and adviser, in Southeast Asia, South Asia and Southern Africa. Kevin Hewison's current research interests include: globalization and social change in Southeast Asia, especially in Thailand; democratization; and labor politics.
