The Carolina Asia Center, a unit of the College of Arts and Sciences, is a core element of UNC-Chapel Hill’s initiative to strengthen its position as a world-class international university.

CAC (pronounced “see ay see”) is the hub for three sets of inter-related activities focusing on Asia: Cutting-edge Research; Innovative Teaching; and Strategic Partnerships.

  • The Carolina Asia Center welcomes a new Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, Dr. Yong Cai. Dr Cai will join the UNC faculty in July 2009 from the University of Utah where his research focused on state development in China.
