Young Hae Choi is a visiting scholar at the Carolina Asia Center and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC. He is an assistant editor at the Dong-A Daily Newspaper, one of the most influential newspapers in Korea. He has worked as a journalist for fifteen years. Mr.Choi is responsible for the business desk at the Dong-A Daily Newspaper. He majored in international finance at the Graduate School of Business in Seoul National University. He had job experience as a stock analyst before he joined the newspaper. His concern is business and the media, newspapers and society, politics and journalism. As a staff reporter, he has covered diverse sectors such as government, large companies, political parties, and the national assembly. His major reporting fields were the Ministry of Finance, Financial Supervisory Services, Blue House, Prime Minister, Samsung, LG and so forth. His research area is to investigate the media's role and responsibility in modern society. He is also interested in business journalism and enjoys politics in the media.
